The weather is unpredictable in Lukla even in the best season of October and November. The chances are high to get flight delays or cancellations due to the bad weather. Thus, it is always recommended to allocate a few more spare days before you fly back home.

• In some circumstances internal flights to/from Lukla are delayed by a few hours or canceled for a day or even many days because of bad weather. This happens very rarely, but it could happen even in the best trekking season like Oct/Nov March and April. Hence, it is always recommended for you to add supplement night/s in Kathmandu after your trek if possible (just in case). If everything runs smoothly, you can enjoy other activities like sightseeing, rafting, wildlife activities, shopping or as you wish in those additional days. However, in the event of these weather delays, if you a want a helicopter rescue in the event of unavoidable flight cancellations to/from Lukla - the tour operator can organize this. Helicopters hereabouts charge around $2500 - $3500 (Lukla - Kathmandu or vice versa) and it can take up to 5/6 persons per flight.
